Donovan and Associates
Donovan and Associates, a certified Women's Owned Business, was established in 1987 to provide a variety of historic preservation consulting services for both public and private sectors. These projects included historic surveys, architectural assessments and evaluations, historic research, preparation of HABS/HAER photographic documentation, and research in the preparation of individual and districts National Register nominations, and determinations of eligibility for listing in the National Register. Donovan and Associates has assisted private property owners and local jurisdictions in the development of preservation master plans and design guidelines for historic properties. The firm has also worked on a number of historic inventory projects, developed historic preservation ordinances, and assisted cities and counties in their preservation planning programs and public hearing process. Donovan and Associates has developed a specialty in the preservation and treatment of historic cemeteries. Clients have included environmental engineering firms, private developers, and city, county, state and federal agencies.
Sally Donovan received her Master's degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Oregon in 1987, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and technical illustration from the University of Nebraska in 1979. Ms. Donovan has experience in large format photography, evaluating historic resources, preservation planning, public participation process, oral interviews, historic research and writing, historic surveys and inventories, the National Register process, preparation of historic context statements, applying the Secretary of Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation, technical illustration, and mapping.
